Cofely, a GDF SUEZ company, acquires Ingenieurgesellschaft Haus-Technik mbh (IHT)

Cologne/Lauta, 17 January 2012 – Cofely, the energy efficiency company of GDF SUEZ for businesses and local authorities, has acquired the Saxon Ingenieurgesellschaft Haus-Technik mbh (IHT). IHT has been active in the energy services market since 1997, and has established itself particularly on the regional market with its four business activities: heat supply, electricity supply, measurement services and heating cost accounting. With this acquisition, Cologne-based energy services provider Cofely will be responsible for the operation of 17 cogeneration plants, the direct marketing of the electricity produced at these plants and assuming IHT's activities as a measurement service provider. IHT's orders on hand total over EUR 20 million.

Through the purchase of this Lauta-based company, Cofely is further strengthening its energy services business segment in Germany. The GDF SUEZ subsidiary had already purchased Proenergy Contracting, the Bochum-based energy services specialist, at the end of 2010. With more than 4,000 energy facilities under contract in Germany, Cofely positioned itself as one of the leading providers and expert in the area of future-oriented energy services.
